Hold PDP Responsible For Fuel Scarcity – Tinubu

According to Punch, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, while speaking with journalists last Saturday, asked Nigerians to hold the Peoples Democratic Party responsible for the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country. He further said the PDP destroyed Nigeria during its 16-year rule. In his words:

“We want to stay focused and redirect Nigeria. We want to reverse the decay of 16 years. We are hearing comments from the PDP left and right. We are saying we want to clear the mess they created. For 16 good years, the PDP destroyed the country. We should not be lamenting over petrol queues today if they had seen what was necessary and done what was necessary for this country.”

Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers said on Sunday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would win Saturday’s re-run legislative elections in the state because it prepared for it. Sen. Ali-Modu Sheriff on Monday in Abuja assumed office as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and decried calls for his resignation by PDP Rescue Group. Sheriff, in an interview with newsmen after he took over, said he was not going to resign his appointment as the chairman of the party.

“The leadership of this party in their wisdom asked me to lead. If the National Executive Council (NEC) of this party collectively asks me to leave, I will leave. I will reposition this party and take it to election within a time frame decided by the leaders of this party to conduct a credible, effective congress that will stand the test of time,” he said.

EFCC Quizzes Tom Ikimi Over $2.1bn Arms Fraud

According to Saharareporters, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a former minister of foreign affairs and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tom Ikimi,  over his alleged role in the $2.1bn arms fund mismanagement. A Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital has ordered the State Commissioner of Police to arrest of former State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Temitope Aluko over alleged perjury. Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye gave this order today, upon a Motion Ex-parte number MAD/10cm/2016, filed by the Ekiti State Government against Mr Aluko and the State Commissioner of Police, pursuant to Section 117 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap C16, law of Ekiti State 2012, Section 79 of the Ekiti State Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2014 and Section 23 (D) of the Magistrates’ Courts Law 2014. PDP Disowns Metuh, Anenih Other Members Accused Of Corruption

According to Voice of America, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has distanced itself from some of its members who are being tried for corruption. The PDP said further that it cannot take responsibility for the charges against the accused persons, which include spokesman, Olisa Metuh and former Board of Trustees Chairman, Tony Anenih. The comments were made by the PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Abdullahi Jalo.

“Let us call a spade a spade. There is money allocated to purchase arms to fight Boko Haram, which is an act of the National Assembly, and then instead of the money to be used properly, there is an allegation by EFCC that out of this money Olisa Metuh has collected 400 million naira, our former PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Tony Anenih has collected 252 million naira.
