Olisah Metuh was accused of stealing 400 Million Naira and was granted 600 Million Naira Bail while former Zamfara Governor, Yerima was Accused of stealing 1 Billion Naira and was granted 100 Million Naira Bail.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has challenged the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed to make public names of the 15 former governors and 55 Nigerians that he claimed stole N1.34 trillion between 2006 and 2013 or keep his mouth shut permanently. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said:
“The reality is that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government has destroyed the economy within eight months in power and rather than look for solutions to the problems facing Nigeria, Lai Mohammed and his cohorts are branding bogus figures about stolen money just to cover up their lack of solution to the country’s economic problems.”
The Peoples Democratic Party has condemned in totality, what it described as the brazen display of “authoritarianism” by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government in handcuffing its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh when he appeared in court on Tuesday. According to Voice of America, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has distanced itself from some of its members who are being tried for corruption. The PDP said further that it cannot take responsibility for the charges against the accused persons, which include spokesman, Olisa Metuh and former Board of Trustees Chairman, Tony Anenih. The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh has denied reports that he tore and attempted to chew a statement he made to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Metuh is said to have made the denial during a visit by some PDP members to his cell at Kuje Prison, Abuja, The Tribune reports.
“They said I ate paper. I did not eat any paper. I don’t know where they got that from,” Metuh supposedly said. As a matter of fact, the last contact I had with those people was the next day after I was arrested when I told them to charge me to court,” he added.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied PDP spokesperson Olisa Metuh is being witch-hunted. The anti-graft agency revealed Metuh’s continued detention is due to his unwillingness to admit and return the ‘over N400 million’ he allegedly received from embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki. Speaking during a meeting with online media publishers in Lagos, the acting EFCC chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu explained:
”From the records, Metuh got over N400 million, he has not said anything because we need the public money to be returned so that it’s going to be used for public good”
