Hold PDP Responsible For Fuel Scarcity – Tinubu

According to Punch, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, while speaking with journalists last Saturday, asked Nigerians to hold the Peoples Democratic Party responsible for the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country. He further said the PDP destroyed Nigeria during its 16-year rule. In his words:

“We want to stay focused and redirect Nigeria. We want to reverse the decay of 16 years. We are hearing comments from the PDP left and right. We are saying we want to clear the mess they created. For 16 good years, the PDP destroyed the country. We should not be lamenting over petrol queues today if they had seen what was necessary and done what was necessary for this country.”

The leader of al-Qaeda-linked Islamist group, Ansaru, has been arrested in Nigeria, authorities there say. A military spokesman said Khalid al-Barnawi was captured in Lokoja, capital of the central state of Kogi. The US had placed a $5m (£3.5m) bounty on his head after branding him one of three Nigerian “specially designated global terrorists” in 2012. Family Announces Alamiyeseigha’s Funeral Arrangements

The Alamiyeseigha family of Bayelsa state have announced the Funeral arrangements of their son and father, Diepreye Alamiyeseigha, the former governor of Bayelsa state who died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers state on October 10th 2015. His funeral will commence on April 7th and end April 10th.

FG Makes U-Turn & Returns Petrol Subsidy, Retains Official Pump Prices

The Federal Government on Saturday recommenced the payment of subsidy on petrol as it subsidised the commodity by N5.84 for every litre of premium motor spirit consumed in Nigeria. Subsidy on petrol was stopped in January after the review of the pricing template of the product by the government. It also announced that the current official pump prices of petrol would remain at N86 per litre when purchased at filling stations run by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and N86.5 per litre when sold at outlets operated by other oil marketers.
